Erin Boag is committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of visitors to this website.

By using the Web Site you consent to the following terms and conditions and to the processing of information as described below, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations of May 2018.

This Policy sets out why I collect personal information about individuals and how I use that information. It explains the legal basis for this and the rights you have over the way your information is used. If you have any questions about this Policy or concerning your personal information, please contact help@erinboag.com

The type of information I collect, and how it is collected

Information is collected directly by my website when you submit an enquiry. This includes your name, your email address, your telephone number, the general nature of your enquiry, and further details as provided by you. If you make a purchase through my online shop, you will also provide your shipping address. Payments are processed securely via a secure Paypal payment gateway – I do not receive, nor can I access or store your card details.

Information is also stored by my website when you visit – please refer to the section on Cookies.

Information is also conveyed from you indirectly via my Mailing List provider, Mailchimp, when you subscribe to my email marketing list.

You may also provide your information to me via other channels including Twitter via messaging or posts; such channels have their own Privacy Policies which you should check prior to providing your details.

How I use your information

I will use your personal information in ways reflecting the legal basis applying to the processing of your data. These may include:

  • responding to your direct enquiries, either personally or via my trusted appointed management team dependent on the nature and specifics of your request;
  • by sending you email communications, having obtained your explicit content to do so, which may be of interest via the secure Mailchimp platform;
  • maintaining my records to ensure your details, including contact preferences, are up to date;
  • to analyse the performance and operation of my website to inform its improvement and usefulness.

My legal basis for processing your information

The use of your information for the purposes described above is lawful because one or more of the following applies:

  • Consent: Where you have provided information to me for the purposes of requesting I provide information, or materials such as an autograph or other signed item, or carry out a service for you, I will proceed on the basis that your consent for me to do so is given by your provision of that information.
  • Contract: the processing is necessary for a contract I have with you, or because you have asked me to take specific steps before entering into a contract.
  • Legal Obligation: Where it is necessary to contact you to comply with the law.
  • Legitimate Interest: where I may use your data in ways you would reasonably expect and which have a minimal privacy impact, or where there is a compelling justification for the processing. For example, using your information to contact you directly regarding events or services related to previous engagements or contracts.

How I safeguard your information

I understand the importance of security of your personal information and take appropriate steps to safeguard it.

All my mailing list data is store securely in the GDPR-compliant cloud-based application Mailchimp with two-factor authentication. I ensure only authorised persons have access to your information, specifically my trusted appointed website agency.

Submissions via my website’s contact forms and online shop are held securely by my website and sent by email to my management for their attention.

No data transmission over the internet can however be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so while I strive to safeguard your information, I cannot guarantee the security of any information you provide online and you do this at your own risk.

Who has access to your information?

Trusted appointed parties who provide services for me, including:

  • My management, including my website agency, for the purposes of responding to enquiries and maintaining and managing online systems.
  • MailChimp for sending email communications to confirmed subscribers.
  • Analytics and search engine providers that help me to improve my Website and its use.
  • Other than this, I will not share your information with other organisations without your consent.

The use of Cookies on my website

“Cookies” are small pieces of information sent by a Web server to a Web browser, which enable the server to collect information from the browser. They are tiny files stored on your hard drive to allow my Website to recognise you when you visit and to improve your experience.

How I Use Cookies

Cookies provide anonymised tracking data to third party applications like Google Analytics, a tool for me to be able to track my site’s performance and visitor demographics – I only use this information for statistical analysis purposes. Other cookies include but aren’t limited to those provided by: YouTube for collecting information to help maintain the integrity of video statistics and prevent fraud; social buttons for tracking sharing activity, and my online shop for remembering the contents of your basket for you to return to.

As a rule, cookies will make your browsing experience better. They help me provide you with a better website by enabling me to monitor which parts of my website you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way provides access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with me.

You may prefer to disable cookies on this site and on others. The most effective way to do this is to disable cookies in your browser though this may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website. Please consult the Help section of your browser or taking a look at the About Cookies website which offers guidance for all modern browsers.

Links

My website contains links to other websites of interest, for example in my blog and social media feeds. These will direct your browser to third-party websites over which I have no control. When linking to another website, you should read the privacy policy stated on that Website. This policy does not cover the use of your personal data on any third-party Websites.

How long I keep your information for

I will hold your personal information for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purposes it was collected for.

Where I rely on your consent to contact you for direct marketing purposes, I will treat your consent as lasting for as long as it is reasonable to do so.

Marketing and your Subscription

I may use your personal information to tell you about relevant news, events, services or products, but I can only do this if I have your consent or a legitimate interest to do so.

You can ask me to stop sending marketing communications at any time by emailing help@erinboag.com. You can also inform me of changes to your contact details via this email too. These requests will be actioned on the Mailchimp system by my website team. Alternatively, you can unsubscribe from marketing messages yourself by clicking the link at the bottom of all marketing emails. There, you’ll also find a link to your subscription profile where you can view and edit your details.

Your rights

You have the right to request access to the personal information I hold about you, and details of the processing activities that I carry out with your personal information through making a Subject Access Request. Such requests have to be made in writing by the person in question.

You also have the following rights:

  • the right to request rectification of information that is inaccurate or out of date;
  • the right to erasure of your information (known as the “right to be forgotten”);
  • the right to restrict the way in which I am dealing with and using your information;
  • the right to request that your information be provided to you in a format that is secure and suitable for re-use (known as the “right to portability”); and
  • the right to withdraw consent at any time, where I am relying on consent to process your personal information.

All of these rights are subject to certain safeguards and limits or exemptions under the data protection laws. To exercise any of these rights, you should contact me at help@erinboag.com

If you are not happy with the way in which I have processed or dealt with your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Further details about how to complain can be found here: https://ico.org.uk/concerns/
